"An important contribution to the development of new works, new voices in the theatre ... a dark and ominous feeling prevails with glimmers of hope and faith."

GayChicago Magazine

Production Detail

2002-2003

Inspired by the untimely and horrific murder of Milwaukee activist Juana Vega, March on my Grave tells the story of a woman who has dealt with and triumphed over many of the obstacles that face lesbians in their youth through adulthood: coming out, facing bigots (including family members) and the universal highs and lows of falling in love. Overshadowing the story of the characters life, however, is the fact that she was shot several times by her lover's brother as she was about to ask her lover to be her life-partner.

Kelly Belmont, Matt Engle, Fannie Hungerford, Marisa Sanders, and Ellen Stoneking.
